LAS VEGAS,NV, August 13, 2012 – Action Slate Releasing (The Liquidator, Contract Killers, The Sanctuary, High Kick Girl!), a Millennium Entertainment distribution line, proudly announces the US release of LADDALAND. The high-profile horror film was Thailand’s highest grossing domestic film of 2011 and garnered Best Picture, Best Actress, Supporting Actress, Screenplay, Editing and Make-up nods at the 21st Annual Thailand National Film Awards (Supannahong or “Golden Swan” Awards), Thailand’s version of the Academy Awards. The film was released across the US August 7, 2012 on DVD and Digitally. Outlets include Walmart, Blockbuster, iTunes and Amazon.
From the writer and producer of Shutter and Phobia 2, Laddaland was written by Sopana Chaowwiwatkul and Sophon Sakdaphisit, directed by Sophon Sakdaphisit, and stars Saharat Sangkapreecha and Piyathida Woramusik. Laddaland is based on the true story of a gated community that was shuttered after a series of mysterious deaths and paranormal occurrences. When a family moves to Laddaland, an upscale housing development with lavish homes, they discover life in their neighborhood isn’t so perfect. A series of terrifying, paranormal events drives the family to the brink of insanity. Laddaland was produced by Thai production powerhouse GMM Thai Hub Co., Ltd. (“GTH”).
